Use of custom fields in smart searches

We would like to add custom fields in item types (groups), and after that we would like to use those fields in smart searches.
Can anybody tell us if that is possible and how we can realize it within the standard functionality?

Hi Gerard,

As far as I know, user smart search does not allow to use fields of item type a user group/user based on in the search rules. You can use user custom fields defined in MC-Control panel-Users-Custom fields only.
