Struggling to get a correct navigation path

Hope someone can help with this.

I have a product list which lays under the following page structure

page1 -> page2 -> product-list-page -> ecom_group1 -> ecom_group2 -> product

we want the url to look exactly like the structure minus the ecom navigation (but the product link should be correct)

This is because page1 and page2 are informational pages to do with the product catalogue but also part of the navigational structure

so its something like

food/find food/product

but when I use the "root" setting in ecom navigation, the regular pages also get removed from the URL.

I dont want to have to use ecom groups to create the navigational structure as it is complicated to have templates for groups based on which group it is, I would assume?

Hope someone understans what I mean and can help

Cheers

Hi Stephen

I am not really sure what you mean by "I dont want to have to use ecom groups to create the navigational structure as it is complicated to have templates for groups based on which group it is, I would assume?"

If you don't wish to use the ecom groups for the navigation, you can setup a product catalog app per page and then use queries to restrict products that are shown on that page

This would require a massive ammount of management though, that is why we generally recommend to go with the ecomgroups approach as the navigation is handled for you in a single page and is automatically updated when you chage the groups
