Misleading default and alert messages in Import Users

Hi,

 

We were tying to show a customer how to import users to a group and found a few small issues that puzzled the user:

  • A simple/quick export, update and import did not work
  • The default checked fields did not match the minimum requirements (no username for example)
  • When I simply updated and saved again I got a warning on the file format - although "normal", makes me look and wonder what/if I did anything wrong
  • Then when I try to import (even with missing data), I get a message that the import was successful, when it wasn't
  • I did look at the documentation here https://doc.dynamicweb.com/documentation-9/users/user-management/user-groups#2554 but the UI does require some tweaking.

Would be important that the simple happy path is less complex to achieve and that at least the alert message is accurate.

Hi Nuno,
you are using a pretty old verions 9.3.12 could you upgrade to the latest 9.4.* which had the fixes for your problems? You can also check the your csv file encoding which usually is not in UTF8 format so the message can be correct.

Hi Dmitriy,

 

Good point about the version. This is actually a production website. I will see when we can upgrade since there are some breaking changes moving into 9.4.

 

I tested in 9.4.12 and worked out a lot better :)
