Migrate permissions between solutions

Hi guys,

I have 2 solutions: Staging and Production.

I have made created an extensive set of permissions for nodes and User types on the staging solution and I now want to migrate these permissions to the Production solution.

Is this possible? How?

So far I have restored the Production database using the Staging database backup. I have moved over some files from the System folder but I have no idea where I can get the permissions from.

Hi,

All object pemissions are stored in DB, so if you actually fully port your DB to Production one as you have described then they are fully applied on Production solution. But general condition is that IDs of not static objects like page, user group etc. should be left the same.

Hi Oleg,

Thank you for the information. I did not had the "Use new permission system" checked. That's why the new permissions did not seem to have migrated.

Now, it's all good.
