Hi guys,

I have a project where I have a customized version of Swift.

Recently I have encountered an error whrn trying to edit the password, while being authenticated.

I have tried using the standard template sith ethe standard settings but I got the same error.

I was wondering if this error may have anything to do with encryption of the passwords or oter password related settings.

Thank you,
Adrian

What error do you get?

Is it 10 or 9?

Hi Nicolai,

It is DW9 and I get the error related to the setting on the Extranet Module:

That message indicates that your entering the wrong first password.

How does your change password template look like?

You can also disable the password security for extranet module to check.

Hi Nicolai,

Yes, it means that I am enetering the wrong password, although I am entering the password I am loging in with. That's why I was wondering if maybe the check for existing password does not account for the conversion between plain password and encrypted password.

The change password template is the one I got from Swift. nothing fancy.

I have tried also disabling those options and played with different combinations without any luck.

I will have to start removing custom code just to make sure there are no interferences.

You could provide the template - so we can have second set of eyes on it - might have something causing this.

Hi Nicolai,
I have attached 2 templates: EditProfile and ChangePassword.
Both have swift origins from a while back (1.21)

Hi Nicolai,

Please do not investigate fuirther yet. I believe I may know what's happening.

We are using the loign to an external provider. Which means that the password we store locally is useless during the login and may be outdated.

I will get back on this thread if I am wrong.

Thank you,
Adrian

Hi Nicolai,

I have confirmed that the root cause was one of our login providers.

I have removed the custom code and all worked fine.

I am sorry about the noise on this one.

Thank you,
Adrian
