How do I unpublish a page?

This might sound like a stupid question and hopefully it is ...

I have a page in the CMS which I do NOT want to be visible in the website.
So when I have a root page with name "test" I do NOT want to see it when I go to mywebsite.com/test, this shoud result into a 404.

My assumption was to set the page property "publication" to the value "unpublished" ....
But on 9.4 / 9.3.10 / 8.9.2.16 and perhaps all versions this is not the case ... the page is shown in the front-end.

Perhaps my interpretation of "Unpublished" is not correct, but is there a way to achieve my goal: Not being able to see a page that resides in the CSM?

Are you still logged in to the backend? That would explain why you see the page, Try logging out or use a different browser to test.

Hi Peter,

You will still be able to use "Show page" from backend to preview unpublished pages. This is only visible for backend authenticated users.

Best regards,
Morten
