Form save to user group

I'm creating a new user with name, company and email on form submit. Does anybody know if it is possible to save the user to a specific user group/folder, and if so how?

Where do you do that? In user management module or custom code or something else?

In Forms (For Data Lists). It is just a simple form on a landingpage. The specific form requires some handling afterwards. That is why I need the new user in a special group.
