Files vs Images folder

Hi,

Are there any official guidelines on what's the use of Files vs Images folder in File Manager? Here's what I learned over the years:

  • Files
    • Has a specific icon - suggests the preferred folder for user files
    • Triggers the Download handler when linking to a file using the rich text editor - also enables statistics
  • Images
    • Specifically called images so I wonder if image files should be under this folder, despite not triggering the download handler if linked to files from the rich text editor

Apart from this I see no reason to choose one or the other. Is there?

Best Regards,

Nuno Aguiar

Hi Nuno

You should use Images folders for (content) images and the Files folder for anything that can be downloaded. And download statistics is only handled by files in the /Files folder.
