File Manager and cached images

Hello,

When swapping files in file manager by renaming them, the old caching image sticks around (it's cached in cache.net). Is there a way to refresh this cache automatically, or maybe even turn off caching in File Manager? One of our content manager is running into what appears like images not renaming, but it's really just a matter of image caching issues.

Example:

image_1.jpg
image_2.jpg

If they are renamed to be reversed
e.g.
image_1.jpg to image.jpg (temporary name)
image_2.jpg to image_1.jpg
image.jpg to image_2

Then the old cached image is still there in File Manager's list view (so the thumbnails are for the wrong images), causing confusion.

What solutions do we have for a situation like this?

Thanks,

Scott

Hi Scott,
to clear the cache.net folder you can visit this url:

Hi Dmitriy,

This would be something for a content editor. I don't believe that they will want to do this (although thanks for that link, which is useful). Is there a way for that to be triggered after file renames, or can we just turn off the server-side caching of thumbnails for this customer?

Thanks,

Scott
