Extensions field for item type "file" is case sensitive

Hi there,

I have an item type with a field of type File with the Extensions field set up like this:

jpg,png,gif

However, this prevents me from uploading files with an upper case extension like image.PNG or image.Png. I can work around an all upper case extension like this:

jpg,png,gif,JPG,PNG,GIF

Can this field be made case-insensitive so I don't have to add all possible capitalization options for all extension types?

Thanks,

Imar

Hi Imar,

I've tested 8801 with Chrome and seen the following behavior for Item Publisher frontend(the same for Item Creator) and page/paragraph backend used fields of File type:

1. Extensions field for item type "file" is case sensitive in drop-down on the frontend. The same issue for backeng (it's not possible to save the content for last file) - FAIL ;

2. Extensions field for item type "file is case-insensitive when upload is performed - OK.

Here is proof - http://screencast.com/t/zhW6dHq5ys

Please, confirm that you mean the issues from point 1 or correct me otherwise.

Hi Oleg,

Yeah, it's the drop-down in the backend where we ran into it. See here: http://screencast.com/t/pTZ5zGxxIrh8

Hope this clarifies it but please let me know if it doesn't.
