Active Directory integration

We have a customer, who's considering to expand their existing solution with an intranet, and they of course wants to use their Active Directory for the login.

I have found the documentation for integrating it, but would like to ask, if it is working perfect and without problems in other solutions? We have had som other troubles with some of the modules in Dw for this customer, and this has to run perfect, if we shall recommend it.

Any experiences, which would be nice for us to know?

Hi Lise

There is the AD integration that have been around for a decade in Dynamicweb - it works as it should. But be aware that it is relying on Windows permissions and policies in the AD. The version referenced in the installation guide requires that the webserver is in the AD Domain. We use it on our intranet at DW and it works great.

In 8.5 we released a new version of AD integration where it is possible to host a webservice on the AD that syncronizes users to the Dynamicweb installation so the webserver no longer needs to be on the AD. see attached document and template
