Carousel arrows in product details

When building product details page, we have the possibility of opening images for the product in a modal where you can switch between them by toggling arrows left and right. However, there does not seem to be the possibility of having these kind of arrows present on the image next to the product information (as the picture shows).

My question is, is it on the roadmap to add such a feature or should I implement my own custom feature for this? I managed to add the arrows by editing the Swift_ProductDetailsImage.cshtml, but I'm also unsure if I should editing this file directly or have another approach at it?

Hi Arnor

Sorry for the late answer. We do not have any plans for that, as the image navigation on the "Media with thumbnails" is ment to be through the thumbnails. But, as you have already done, it should be an easy task to to the implementation, if needed.

Hi Karsten,

Thank you for getting back to me. I wasn't sure if I should have made another post because we have couple of other questions about the product details which are

  • Resize of the color variant buttons in product details. 
    • Right now it seems like there is no possibility to resize these variants other than changing the ratio. We can use custom css rules of course but I was interested to know if this was also something on the roadmap
  • Disable size variant buttons if a product is out of stock. We have a request to disable these buttons and have a line through them to make it clear to the user that these size variants are not available and cannot be clicked on.
    • As far as I know there does not seem to be any customization option regarding the size variants on product details other than displaying them.

We do not have resizing of color variant buttons on product detail in the roadmap.

You would have to customize both of these scenarios in the template.
