Hi,

 

We've noticed that the Meta URL field is not available in the ProductViewModel/webapi. Is that by design?

 

The question came up with a 3rd party team consuming the webapi and trying to point to the DW site

  • Some products have meta URL, so they cannot rely on product name
  • I guess we could send them to /Default.aspx?ID=x&GroudID=y&ProductId=z but that's always going to cause a redirect

Yes, that is by design as the URL is calculated live and in headless scenarios we currently do not have an option to provide proper URL mapping for products. We are working on that though.

Sending as querystring based URLs and have DW re-write is the best option as that will hanlde changes in URL settings, product and group names etc.
