Hi,

I have an unpublished page that has been indexed by google.

I use the unpublished url/name to redirect to a new page.

Result: It give me a 404 page and not the redirected link.

Is it not possible to redirect when the page is unpublished?

v9.6.3

Thanx in advance =)

I think that's by design. Unpublished means a 404, so the redirect will never happen. What about setting up a redirect from the old page to the new one under Settings | Web & HTTP | Redirects? Alternatively, publish the page and let it rediect.

Hi Imar,

I was using the Redirects under Web & HTTP. And it was not working.
I even deleted the page. And it was still not working.
Then I discovered that if the "Use in URL" are used to give the url a new name... Then it's not working.
I had to remove the name from "Use in URL". Now it works with the page as unpublished.

Maybe an error
Maybe there is technical explanation

Thank you for quick response.
