Configuring limited permissions

Hi there,

I have a solution that hosts multiple sites and shops, each with different languages. I am trying to set up user accounts so that one user can manage one language / shop with pretty much full control, but not others. Here's what I did:

1. Create new user with default backend access.

2.On the Permissions dialog for the Ecommerce menu item, added the group this user is in and gave it full control. When I now log in, I can see the Ecommerce menu. Great.

3. I then went into settings, and under Catalog | Shops, added the user group with a None permission set for all shops except one. For that one shop, I set the permissions to Full. I also set permissions for one language. When I now log in, I can see that one shop only which is great. I do see however see the language I configured + the default language (English in my case). Is that by design?

4. Now when I edit a product, I can change simple fields like the Name, but most of the items on the Ribbon bar are greyed out:

That means this user cannot make changes to the Price Matrix, which is something I need to allow them to do. My expectations were that I should be able to click Prices and then only see the prices assigned to the shop I have access to. And when adding a price, my shop should be preselected without me being able to change it.

Is that how it's supposed to work? If not, how do I get this setup to work?

Thanks in advance,

Imar

I found the Prices option in the Permissions Matrix. Looks like setting the permissions to Create gives me what I need as it then allows me to create new, and edit existing prices for my own shop only...

I'll do some more testing but this looks promising.
