How-to's for Live Integration / Custom Connectors

Can someone point me in the direction of some how-to's / examples (if they exist) on the dev / installation of connectors on the customer side?

Is using a connector the only approach?  We also have the possibility of creating a JSON based RestAPI on the customer side and exposing this, but I dont know if DynamicWeb will be able to support it, and dont know about authentication from dynamic webs side either? We also have direct access to an ERP API and the ERP SQL server on the customer side, so a customer connector could be developed there.

I just want to use the quickest and best option... if this is the connector option, and this is relatively easy to implement, then great!  Is it enough with the templates in https://doc.dynamicweb.com/downloads/other-downloads ?

Hi Stephen,

It certainly depends on the needs of the customer. There is a lot of way to go. Best place to start would be our integration documentation: https://doc.dynamicweb.com/documentation-9/integration

We have connectors/plug-in units for AX, NAV, BC and F&O: https://doc.dynamicweb.com/documentation-9/integration/integration-framework/erp-plug-in-units

We also support various data formats via our integration providers: https://doc.dynamicweb.com/documentation-9/integration/integration-framework/data-integration-activities#sideNavTitle1-2

I suspect that you are talking about either Business Central or Finance and Operations, and in that case I would so suggest that you look at our OData provider: https://doc.dynamicweb.com/documentation-9/integration/integration-framework/data-integration-activities/odata-provider-new

Hi Rasmus.

Unfortunately nothing so turnkey, no.

Its Visma Business, an SMB product which has no plugin support i'm afraid.

I have been told Framework by some, and file based by others. It seems maybe file based is indeed the best way to go. The customer might not need live integration for B2B anyway, and when B2C crops up later, we can take that discussion then. The same mapping of ERP to DW you would do for a plugin, needs to be done to get a usable import files anyway.

Hi,

Ah ok! We don't have a standard connector for Visma Business. So if you are looking for out of the box solutions, file based is the way to go.

Also note that we have a partner who made an integration for Visma.NET

Hi,

Yes but Visma.net is not Visma Business. As I understand Visma has 3 different ERP offerings.
