Hi guys,
We have received a simple and justified request from a customer in relation to the images displayed for a product with variants.
We have a situation where the MasteProduct and each of the variants have distinct images. But each one has only one image (the DefaultImage).
The requested behavior is that we would display in the list of images, the image(s) from the master product and the image(s) from the variants.
Ideally, the Master product would display all Master images and images from all Variants while a variant product would display the variant images and the Master images.
I have set up the Asset category to "Merge" hoping that it would solve it. But no matter how I combine them, in the situation where each product has a single image, only the default image is displayed without any merge.
Since we have a lot of products and information in the system, the ideal scenario is that we don't start to refactor the entire naming conventions and assigned values but rather use what we have now which seems, for a non-technical user, as a decent request.
Do we have any option to handle it without having to refactor the entire template code? If there is no possibility, would you consider adding this type of combination of assets in the future?
Thank you,
Adrian
