Image Selector Item type field with Advanced Settings

Hi,

Consider the image field type in items

It's quite common to have customers from all technical ranges (editors all the way up to developer-like) that request more advanced settings. So instead of having to always customize templates and/or Item types (to add the necessary settings), it would be great to have an additional icon that would open up a modal window with additional settings.

Example of settings:

  • Quality/Compression
  • Format
  • Alt text (although I understand Swift Item types have them as a separate field - it should really be part of this in my opinion)

I believe this would still allow the usage to be simple enough, but allow for users to have some advanced settings. And then in the templates, similar to how we get the Focal Points, the view model could already return the built path with the GetImage, simplifying the usage by the developers as well.

Best Regards,

Nuno Aguiar

Hi guys,

+1

Alt value for images is a tricky subject, We have received various requests to automate the alt value depending on various scenarios. I guess we cannot cover any SEO scenario, but if we can cover some scenarios for a dynamic generation of Alt value based on the context, it would be great.

Thank you,
Adrian

Hi Nuno,

Nope. I was thinking about inheriting some values from the PageView. Page name for example or paragraph name.
