Hi

what is the right and best way to allow costumers to use Dynamicweb Gift Cards in POS?

Can you capture a giftcard in backend in Dynamicweb, even tough the sale itself is in the physical store?

Currently it is not possible to do transactions on giftcards in backend... You can only expire them in their total. So if the entire giftcard is used, you can, otherwise not...

Lately parts of the Giftcard API has been opened up so you can add custom stuff using the GiftCardService.

These things stems from the beginning of giftcards where they were under the law of money and it was not allowed to moderate them (VAT and Tax evation issues).

Ok, does that mean that if you expire it - the full amount will be captured in Dynamicweb? How do you expire the gift card and capture the full amount?

Expire and capture full amount results in the same thing - the card is no longer valid. But an expire will not capture the amount on the card in DW.

Sorry for me being kind of slow

but will this result in that the full amount from the giftcard is being captured in dynamicweb? So that they will only have to charge the difference between the giftcard and the full price in the physical store?

Yes.

When buying a giftcard in DW the money is captured from the credit card right away - expiring it in Dynamicweb will just mark it as expired so it can no longer be used. So if the store uses the entire amount on the card, everything is fine.

If the giftcard is for 100 and the customer is spending 80, they would need to give the customer 20 and expire the card in DW
