Recommended characters for product IDs

Hi there,

I have a catalog with products that have IDs like this:

0,01
0,02
0,02-
0,02-1
0,03
0,03-
0,03-1
0,03-1D

Not your typical IDs as you can see. Will this cause me problems down the road? I am especially worried about the comma and the trailing hyphen. It seems the customer cannot change these as they have been in use and are widely known.

I found an old thread (https://doc.dynamicweb.com/forum/feature-requests/feature-requests/special-characters-in-dw-id) but that uses different special characters,

Thanks!

Probably the comma could be an issue. Usually comma is not an issue in JS but could be in the index - and will be once you analyze a field. But that can be disabled. I do not think the hyphen should be an issue.

Problems usually comes out of characters that needs escaping in URLs, XML, Index and in Javascript. Neither comma nor hyphen has those issues.
