Dear Dynamicweb,

 

We are really much missing the possiblity to have values from the existing item copied to a new custom item, when we need to extend an existing item and the item type is changed on say a page.

Is that on the road map?

Currently not. But we are looking into extending items and this could be part of those tasks.

It is relatively simple though - move records from item_something table to item_somethingcustom and update item type on area/page/gridrow/paragraph tables. Clonky, but possible with your wizards at the office... But build in would be super nice, so duely noted.
