Can I get rid of "Nothing selected" option ?

Hi guys,

I have a situation where I have a couple of List box fields (ProductCategoryFields) and I would like to get rid of the "Nothing Selected" option that is included by default.

Is this possible?

Also, I see that in some cases, the "Nothing Selected" option is greyed out and in some cases, it is displayed normally. What is the logic behind this difference?

Hi Adrian,
It is not possible to remove the "Nothing Selected" option for dropdowns. We always add this option if the dropdown contains at least one option.
"Nothing selected" (and other options) are greyed out if the value is inherited from the parent. After selecting a new value, it will change to the normal color.
I did not find the rest of the situations you described. Could you please tell about it if I have missed something? Then I will check it in the code.

Hi Stanislav,

From what I have found out, the 2 states of the option are related to the field having an empty value or not.

In my case, some fields had an empty value and that meant that "Nothing selected" was the selected option. If the field does not have any value, the option is grayed out.

I don't think that you have to investigate further.
