Hi,
I have a solution where the index shows there are 8674 products in the database.
When I open the eCommerce tree, it shows a number of 21215 which is a bit confusing for the end users.
How could this number be different from the total number of products in the database?

That is the number of relations - and since you have all products in many groups, it will count like that. One product being member of 3 groups, will count 3 times in that one.
