Split Invoice for split orders

Hi

When we split capture an order in backend, we want to print the split invoice to attach to the package for vat calculation etc.

Is this possible to do on an order? Have tried printing the invoice on the order - using the print on the order, but this appears to print the entire invoice as if the order is completed, even tough we only capture and send part of the order. Is it possible for the print invoice functionality to be able to handle split orders, so that it can print an invoice for the completed part of the order initially, and then print invoice for the rest of the order when the order is fully completed?

Is this possible on an order, or is this something we could eg. use the RMA for?

Hi Hans

This is not possible currently. You might be able to do some ninja tricks in the template so you do not render out the lines not captured yet.

You should not use RMA as that would remove part of the order.

Ok, thank you Nicolai.

Anyone else solved this somehow? I find it hard to believe that we can be the first to have client with this need  :)

Hi Hans,

We run into this but the change is a big perspective change. We use Orders and Invoices (to mimic the ERPs). So there can be two or more invoices for a single order. This way we can let the customer drill into the 2 separate invoices when there were partial shipments. This is backed directly from the ERP so it's a consistent structure. We use Ledgers for the invoices.

It's a big change if the project doesn't already have that though, so Nicolai's suggestion for ninja tricks to the template would be the way to do it with just Orders as objects.
