Hi DW,
We have a client who is upgrading to BC cloud version 18.2 from 18.1 and wants to know if the current version of the DW Codeunit (12.0.16) is compatible with the newer BC Cloud version 18.2.
Last time microsoft pushed a upgrade they didnt have correct prices for 2 weeks on a production site because of bugs in the codeunit and we would very much like to avoid errors like that :)

Is the DW Codeunit 12.0.16 for BC18 compatible with BC Cloud 18.2?

Hi Jannich
Yes - we update every April and October to follow MS releases.
Is this the solution where they have enabled the new price system in BC?

Hi Nicolai,
Sounds good.
If you mean this feature https://docs.microsoft.com/da-dk/dynamics365-release-plan/2020wave2/smb/dynamics365-business-central/use-new-sales-pricing-experience- then yes.
Does this feature affect the customer in anyway for the upcomming upgrades? :)
Yes, exactly that. Lets just say that that feature has not been stable and settled in MS code for very long. We only got access to the api 4 weeks prior to their release in April, and that is probably what you have run into - that we did not support that from the beginning.
They release changes to this still, see: https://docs.microsoft.com/da-dk/dynamics365-release-plan/2021wave1/smb/dynamics365-business-central/edit-active-prices-price-lists-price-overview-pages
So if they use any of these new features and changes, we might not be 100% compatible on prices.
All of these changes from MS is related to a more dynamic price engine - enabling custom price calculations in new ways. We also do not know exactly how that will work with our newest code unit as we have not tried it yet. But should work.
So a bit of testing is needed here I am affraid...
I'll ask our integration team to chip in - they might have deeper insights...!

Hi Nicolai,
Thank you for the response.
Would be great to have some deeper insight on this from the integration team!
Hi Jannich,
we have implemented that new Pricing calculations feature in our extension using D365BC cloud 18.2.26217.26331 version.
So you could try to create a Sanbox Cloud environment and install our latest extension there and check what you need
before using production environment if you want to check if everything works as needed.
