DW 9.8 Save (and close) of existing user not working

Hi,

After upgrading our solution to 9.8 it seems that we cannot edit our users any more, pressing save or save and close does a request but the user does not get updated and the close does not trigger.

I can still add a new user, and at that moment  the save and close works, and the new user gets added, but that new user then has the same problem as our other existing users, and cannot be updated any more. Deleting the user still works.

I see no errors in the console or in the logs.

Is there a setting we have to change that will fix this behavior?

Hi,

Found the reason its not working, the response of the request to the backend is "Password must contain numbers and characters.". I suspect that the password validation does not handle the existing password ok.

To fix the problem you just have to fill in the password every time you want to save, then it saves (and closes).

I assume this is not how it should work though.

Hi Hans

Thanks for the bug report. It has been registered as 75107 and will be fixed in 9.8.1. For now you can somewhat work around the issue by going to Settings -> Control panel -> Users and activating the "Show password if present" checkbox
