Hello,
For our customer www.huuskes.nl (DW 9.6.9) we put image settings on the Files/Images folder in an attempt to lessen the load on the website since they tend to upload huge, badly compressed files. Last week we got the complaint from the customer that they could no longer browse to the "Actueel" subfolder. Our tests confirmed that not only they where correct, but that the backend even completely froze, and sometimes the whole application got reset.
At first we thought it might be caused by the number of files in the directory (> 700), but tests on the acceptance environment showed that even a measly 60 files took more as 2 minutes to show.
Deactivating the "Resize images in folder" checkbox fixed the issue.
We had the following settings on the Images folder:
- Width 2000
- Height 0
- Keep aspect ratio
- quality 100
- overwrite original ON
- Apply to subfolder ON
- 2 tumbnails active, 1 width 1000, 1 width 510, in seperate subfolders
Is there something we did wrong that things got in a loop or something? We do not understand why just browsing a folder would get slowed by these settings.
Greets Hans
