What gives a menu item and what does not

I'm currently working on trying to understand how to build a menu structure in DW with Rapido, and have found the blog/news/partners/dynamic article features of DW. However, I'm not able to determine what settings that results in a menu item and which doesn't. One should think it was the "do not show in menu", but it is not - at least not consistent.

In my demosite I have a DW created "latest blogposts", a blog list with blog items under it. This one is displayed in the menu and to turn it of, I use the previous mentioned settings.

I also have a blog list called "klokkebloggen", with blog items under it. This one does not show up in the menu dispite identical setting (I think).

Where am I missing something?

Best wishes

Hi Siv

Good question. Have you read this documentation? https://doc.dynamicweb.com/rapido/configuration/creating-content/dynamic-articles Here are some of the facts about the Dynamic articles:

  • "Hide in menu" will only hide the page in the top navigation. Never in the list of articles
  • There is, unfortunately, currently no way to not render an article in the lists
  • There has been a bug that required the articles to always be in a folder

If you have the folder requirement bug, then you will simply have to create this structure

  • Articles (Folder)
    • Klokkebloggen (Article list, Sort by date to get latest in top)
      • Blog post one (Article, hide in menu)
      • Blog post two (Article, hide in menu)
      • Blog post three (Article, hide in menu)

I hop this helps. Otherwise you are very welcome to write again.

Best regards
