I might want to add that we are looking into a feature where you use a discount to deduct an amount from the order based on using loyalty points.

It is very high on the list, but not in current release track - but in the next level for 9.10 (fall). This release is currently a little ahead of time, so we might push it in before release of 9.9 in August. But no promises.

You can use a DiscountExtender to create the feature - eventhough you have to make it in a way so you can only get one of more fixed discounts. I.e. 1%, 2%, 5% etc. If the user has enough points.

We have already built something like this and it seems to be working fine.

If you want to test, you can try it here (project is still under development): http://atomico.dotfusion.ro

You will need to create an account for yourself, place a first order, then try again to see the available points.

But I do not get the opportunity to use my points in the basket.

In the meantime the customer asked us to hide the functionality until they have enough customers with points.
We will move it to a different test solution and get back to you.

How do we implement the functionality to buy items with mix of loyalty points and money, now that it is released in 9.9 ? 

Choose loyalty points on the discount and set the amount of points that goes for 1 default currency unit. See dump

It is final testing and validation. It had some implications that was unforseen - you should have something in the next couple of days.

I have a problem with the amount of points being deducted from the user after using the new functionality in the cart. 
The points being deducted from the cart total price is with taxes but the amount being deducted from the users account is without taxes. 

Do you have a fix for this ? 

(If you look at the screenshot it is only the 300.8 that is being deducted from the users account)

The prices in dB are without VAT.

When you set up the loyalty discount you adjust the exchange rate for VAT:100 points = 80 DKK.

There seems to be some rounding issues when using loyalty point for paying the entire order.

The order total is sometimes 0,01 DKK.

In the database I have these prices (with VAT):

134,95 (product orderline)
-13,50 (product discount orderline - 10%)

Then I have to pay 121,46 before using loyalty points - should it be 121,45?. After using loyalty points a new discount orderline is added, where price = 121,46, but I have to pay 0,01 DKK.
