Google Tag Manager

Hi,

I wroted down a Google Tag Manager ID in the settings of a website. The GTM has one tag for pageviews and another tag for E-commerce transactions.

On the catalog list, I can add products to the cart by the "Add to cart" button, but a 404 error is displayed for the checkout page or when clicking on a product from the catalog list. Besides, Google Analytics tracks the data of the visits, but not the data of the E-commerce.

May I configure antything else or is it an error?

Regards,
Tomas

Hi Tomas

It is hard to tell from your description. The 404 for the cart page is probably because the cart page is configured wrong. It could be the navigation tag, see dump.

If you can provide a little more information on what you mean regarding GTM - what does Dynamicweb and what do you believe it should have done instead?

Thanks for clarifying.

Hi Nicolai,

Thanks for your prompt response. The procedure to fire the error is:

  1. A new installation (DW 9.5.17 + Rapido 3.0)
  2. On the backend, go to the website settings, introduce a Google Tag Manager ID (e.g. "GTM-1234567) and save the settings.
  3. On the frontend, display a product list (see the attached image). You can press the "Add to cart" buttton, but if you click on a product name or on the "Proceed to checkout" menu, both actions go to a "404 not found" error page.

Regards,
Tomas

We have the same issue on hotelchocolat.dk on a Rapido, when we insert any GTM ID in website settings we get a 404.

Hi Tobias

I believe that error has been fixed in recent hotfixes: see https://doc.dynamicweb.com/rapido/download/known-bugs/bug-fixes-for-rapido-3-1

It has also been discussed here: https://doc.dynamicweb.com/forum/rapido-and-wrap/rapido-and-wrap/problemer-med-opsaetning-af-google-tag-manager-i-rapido

Let me know if you want support to help you out.

Sorry about the inconvenience!

Thanks Nicolai

Thx NP. We have inserted the GTM script directly in the template. We don't wanna upgrade rapido right now :)
