I might have posted a similar request a while ago, I am just posting it again in order to remind you about it.
For fields of type List (either for Product fields or for ItemType fields) having more than a decent number of values, it would be useful to be able to search through the values and return a limited number of results to select from. I think it might be useful for Brands (for shops having a lot of Brands), Authors and Publishing houses (for books), for various product features. It can be applied to either Select, CheckboxList or Radio Button list (or any other list that you might think of). Maybe even for ItemType relation lists.
I understand this is a complex change for the interface but you have to keep in mind that the admin users are getting used to this approach because of the everyday use of internet and they expect to have it available.
We have seen this need before and it will probably still be valid for the upcoming period as well, even more if the PIM development will expand the possibilities for managing Fields.
