I do not think you can do that. My best bet currently is to create a number of similar discounts that expires after say 6 months. That way you can give vouchers that works until March 2019, until June 2019 etc.

In 9.6 you get a new feature on a discount related to voucher codes, that they can be used a specific amount of times. I.e. 1 or 10 times per customer (Userid if logged in, email if not). That might come in handy.

I can create a discount that would expire in 6 months. I believe what I need to know is if the Recurring order will check if there is any discount that would apply to the order before reissuing the order.

If a voucher code is on the initial order, will it trigger the discount for every recurring order until the discount expires? That would probably solve my issue for now.

I think it will. Discounts and prices are recalculated.
