Ecom products sorting

In admin there is possible to sort products within a product group.
I cant find any option to use this sorting when using a product catalog module connected to a index.

Can anyone let me know if it is possible to sort products in frontend using this backend sorting, if yes how?

You should be able to do that by selecting "Sort (Primary group)" as the sort by field in the index query (or override the sort by field for index query on the product catalog).
Depending on your setup and requirements you might also need to set the Sort by in display settings to "User defined".

I have tried this, but I cant get it to work.
There is no "User defined" option in the display settings, only "None" and I have tried that one...

Hi guys,

I have had a similar issue a while ago and Nicolai indicated that sorting is now done by Primary Group:

The option is "Sort (Primary Group)"
