Product added to cart with and without BOM item

Hi,

I was wondering how DW Handles product with BOM items (as upgrades) when added to cart and the same product added to cart without any BOM items. So in cart it will create a new orderline for a product which has no BOM items selected or it will update the existing orderline?

My application is running on DW 9.4.4 and when I add Product to cart with and without BOM item It updates the existing orderline and on top of that it also removes the BOM orderline which is there when first product is added to the cart.

Hi Umar

If you have 2 different BOM configurations, you should get 2 orderlines.

If you have the same product - one added to cart with bom items and one without bom items (how did you do that??), that is an untested teritory so it might not be supported. Could you describe how you add the BOM product without any BOM items?

Hi Nicolai, 

Let say I have  Bike (as product) which has Parts list (I would call it upgrades) -> Stem,  Bar, Wheelset and Fork. I can add a product to cart without any Upgrades selected (Parts list/BOM item) and now would like to add the same bike to cart with some upgrades and instead of creating new order line in cart it updates the existing orderline see the screen cast her.

And i expect it to be something like this in orderlines

  • BikeA (seperate orderline with no upgrades)
  • BikeA (seperate orderline with upgrades)
    • Fork (Upgrade)
