Ecom navigation and restricted access

Hi,

I'm using the Ecom navigation to output the tree-structure from the Ecommerce-module at the frontend, where customers log in to submit an order.

A specific product group should only be visible to a specific user group though. I've tried to set this up in DW prior to version 9.4.2, but without the best of luck :)

Is there a neater way to achive this in DW 9.4.2 ?

Hi Kurt

No, I am sorry - but you cannot. We do not have permissions on groups in ecommerce for a number of reasons (searches, products in multiple groups, shops etc etc). The only way is to introduce simple template logic or start using assortmenst, which take some implemenation to do.

Hi Kurt,

The proper way to do this is to use Assortments https://doc.dynamicweb.com/documentation-9/ecommerce/product-catalog/product-catalog#2676 .

That will hide the groups accordingly if you don't have access to them. It would require you to build 2 assortments, one for anonymous and logged in users, and another assortment just for this user group that have access to this ecom group. So this user group have access to both assortments (in other words all products and product groups in ecommerce), while others just don't see this special one.
