Preventing language on website

Hi,

I have two separate websites running on there own domains.

  1. da.mywebsite.com
  2. en.mywebsite.com

And I have two languages in the ecommerce

  1. da-dk
  2. en-gb

There is only one shop.

Is there any way I can prevent (a checkbox somewhere) the user from going to the danish website but with english language by typing this da.mywebsite.com/en-gb

Regards
Kim

Hi Kim

The languages in the Ecommerce sounds more like websites?

if you have setup each website with each its own domain, you can set "The selected domains can only reach this website" checkbox on website settings: https://doc.dynamicweb.com/documentation-9/content/content/websites-language-layers#3213

On the ecommerce settings, you can also set the language, currency etc.: https://doc.dynamicweb.com/documentation-9/content/content/websites-language-layers#3218 and combine these with settings in Settings, Web & Http, Customized URLs: https://doc.dynamicweb.com/documentation-9/platform/advanced-settings/web-and-http#3515 Enable the 404 for products not in website language and shop.

So if on website da.mywebsite.com you have specified danish language, setting the 404 setting, will result in a 404 if trying to access a english product etc.

Hope this clarifies.

Hi Nicolai
yes it sounds like that but the reason behind the format (da.mywebsite.com/da-dk) is that the sub domain part (da) is controlling the country and the language is controlled by the /da-dk part, because there will be many more websites and some of them can have more languages, like the dutch nl.mywebsite.com/nl-be & nl.mywebsite.com/nl-nl

We need a way to control which languages are available on each of the websites. An example is https://dk.ecco.com/da-DK try selecting different countrys and see witch languages are available

I think I have already tryied the things you suggest, but I will try to play a little more with the different combinations.

Kim
