The Inactive Products in the product catalog with smart search groups.

Hi there,

I am using Dynamic Web 8.9.1.7 . I have make product list to show only the products that are active by setting Management Center > Ecommmerce > Advanced configuration > General > only show products that are active. It is working when we use groups in the product catalog module but not when using smart search groups. It not only show the inactive produts but also go to the page not found (that we set up to show when 404 occurs). I thought I can filter out the inactive products through smart search edit but there is no filter field for product active in there. Can any body advice me what would be the possible solution beside using another varsion? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Yes, the issue is on the admin version and it will not unfortunaly be fixed in future, since DW89 is old version almost not supported by DW. You can create new product Repository-Index-Query in MC-Repositories where 'Active' field exists in query's group expressions and use the query as source in product catalog module instead of not valid smart search. The 'Only show product only active' feature works in the case correctly.

Please, find extra info about index using. It's doc for DW9 version but can be used for DW89 mainly as well.
