Order discounts are a 'special case' of a sales discount. But there is no way to extend order discounts. Has to be sales discounts.

What kind of discount do you need?

Yes, but sales discounts does not work with freight limit as I were told by Kristian, so we have to do order discounts..

The customer needs a text area where they can post all the wanted item numbers with colors, and then those products must have a discount. As each color can have a lot of sizes, the customer does not want to go through 1000x variants and click to get the discount working :)

Ok, so the discounts are ok, but the UI for adding a lot of products not suitable for this scenario. Could it be an option to make a simple ui on top of the discounts where they select the discount, and add the text above, and when saved, you update the selected products on that discount?

That was actually my original thoughts, but do you have any recommendations of how to do this? 

We should also consider that when we save, we potentially have have concurrency issues with the two fields :)

Only way I can think of right now is a custom module/app with a simple UI. The concurrency you can probably handle!
