Upload file with -- in the name

Hi,

 

We have some projects where we are uploading files with "dash dash" in the filename. Example "{productNumber}--front.jpg"

 

If I try to upload this image from the backend, it does not work. Shouldn't it work?
(using 9.3.6)

Does not work, means what exactly? Exception, something else?

I can upload, but the "--" is replaced by "-" to avoid SQL injection checks in the frontend - maybe a bit legacy since that has been updated later on.

,;+'# are also replaced with _
