Hi Kim

We cannot do that. If you make a query that returns, lets say 2 mio records in 10 languages and 150 product fields = 3.000.000.000 input fields, the server would start burning and your browser explode to kill you. We cant have that... And that is not a thought of example - we know that is one of the first thing someone will do.

Even a page size of 1000 x 50 product fields x 3 languages = 450.000 input fields is an issue for the browser (and server). Page size 100 x 10 fields in 2 languages = 2.000 input fields and is just about the limit the browser can handle.

But we will probably allow for a more smart pagesize selector that will allow more records depending on how many fields and languages you have activated.

Hope you understand this issue and can see why it is not that simple.

Thanks, Nicolai

yes I understand, maybe "show all" is overkill :) I think its depending on the setup and the customer. What about making it custom so we can take the decision based on the setup.

Hi Nicolai,

First of all: The new PIM is a major improvements - congratulations!

I really second the idea from Kim of having a larger option there - even if it would only be 200 like the PIM List view has.  We have a customer with the task at hand now to change two fields of 800 products (no variants, single language), all to the same values. Using the current max of 25 that's 32 pages - a tad tediouos.

I understand your reasoning about scalability - and I believe a factor in this would be the number of included fields in the view.  In the scenario we were trying for this we have a query with only the fields we're changing.  Considering that bulk editing those 25 products and saving is blazingly fast, in these conditions I'm confident that going up to 500 would be quite acceptable from a performance point of view.

Best regards,

Tolli

Hi Þórhallur and Kim

Thank you for the feedback. We already discussed this, and we will make sure that we can get a more dynamic version fo the pagesize. In the sense it will adapt to the number of languages * number of fields in the view should be less than i.e. 5000. So if you have 800 products of 2 fields in one language = 1600 could be on one page.

We have to test and verify that of course - will look into this in a not far distance.

Thanks, Nicolai
