New Index does not index paragraph based items

We are building a type ahead search, based on content (all item based) of both page and paragraph nature.

It appears that we can only get results that are pages, and not paragraphs. Appears the index does not index paragraph, and therefore the query doesn´t work. Anyone else had any problems with this, or anyone get it to work with item-based paragraphs?

Hi Hans

The content index builder indexes pages - and only pages. If you have paragraphs on a page, the information is indexed into the fields ParagraphHeaders, ParagraphTexts og ParagraphContent. ParagraphContent contains all values for text based fields of paragraph items.So you can search that field.

The reason paragraphs are not indexed as individual documents is that you would get multiple results pointing to the same page - i.e. if you have 2 or more paragraphs on a page with the same phrase. That would not make sense.

If you need to search specifically on item fields and not only free text, you should use pages. Or build your own index.
