Calculated Price for Variants of a Part list product

Hi Guys,

I have the following situation: 1 product with variants, set as Parts List.

I get that this might seem like an unusual setup but it actually has a lot of sense when you look at the products in question.

The Price setting is set to Calculated Price, which means that the displayed price will always be based on the prices of the options.

This works fine for the main product but for Variants (when listed separately) the price is always returned zero. Probably because the options are assigned to the master product and not to the individual variant.

Any chance to add the calculated price to follow the same rule as for the master product? Maybe inherit the options?

Thanks,

Adrian

Hi Adrian

I think that would be open a pandoras box to change the behavior here...

Would it be an option to use related products instead of variants.

Hi Nicolai,

I can imagine that. And I think our case is pretty singular otherwise this issue would have been noticed already.

Unfortunately we tried the Related Products method before using the parts list and it did not fit well with our case. That's why we ended up with Parts List.
We'll probably avoid using "Calculated price" method and stick with "Fixed plus changes". That would give us at least a starting price.

Thanks a lot,
Adrian
