Hi guys,

 

In one of our projects we are listing variants as products and we need to show the variant text in the product list. At the loop VariantCombination we have the "Ecom:VariantCombination.VariantText" that returns the label of the variant but in the standard product list tags we have only the tag "Ecom:Product.VariantID".

 

The reason why we don't want to use that loop is for performance reasons.

 

It's possible to add this tag in the standard product loop please?

Are you using simple or 'extended' variants?

If you are using extended variants, the name of the variant is product name tag... If not, you have to look in the loop.

Hi Nicolai,

 

The use of the loop in the product list make the page render 3.5x slower. There is not other option?

So how do you get the variant out? From the index or using regular groups?

Sorry I i give you wrong information. Nuno confirmed that we are using 'extended' variants and not 'standard'. 

 

Just to be clear, I don't want to bring the variant product name but the variant label. see dump.

There is any way to accomplish this?

The data is currently not there - you have to do it custom or wait til we can add it to the product after 8.9

That is not yet planned. We release 8.9 today and will start look at items for 8.9.1 and plan that.
