Now that we have the new index and the ability to build queries, I would love to be able to use that in the backend. For ecom products that would make search so much easier. I envision something like this:
1. In the Management Center I create a new sub folder for indexes called Backend
2. In the folder I create a new Index for Products
3. I add a bunch of filtering criteria / facets.
4. I build the index
5. I switch to the Ecommerce section and click All Products. The standard ribbon for search appears. From an Index drop down I choose my new UI.
6. The ribbon reloads and shows controls backed by my facets. Dates in the query turn into date pickers, facet groups show as drop downs, text controls for text fields etc.
7. I set a bunch of criteria and hit Search.
8. The UI shows products like it does today, along with the ability to select custom columns.
Good idea?
