New User - control unique fields

Hi,

 

When creating a new user, would be great if we had the option to check if the email already exists (unique). Currently the module only checks for that for the username field, but sometimes we need both.

 

Currently we have to make a lookup (frontend) and create a UserSave Observer to control it, but would be interesting if that was available out of the box.

+5 I see this request quite often and we usually have to work around it with custom code. If the module could behave on duplicate email addresses the way it does today with duplicate user names, that would be great.

You could use email and username as the same field then. Just save the same value to the 2 fields...

Anyways, the feature will be added for 8.9.1 backlog.

Thanks for that. We are in fact using it like that in some cases, but does not cover all scenarios we come up with, hence the request.

This reuqest has been added to the pipeline for the 8.9.1 release comming out late november.
