Problem with creating page-based items

The problem is shown here (in danish). http://screencast.com/t/aMdlReuncP4z

The basic problem we can see is that a page-based item creates a page in the content tree and an item in the itemtype table before the editors has a chance to enter any data on the item itself.
It should be controlled the way paragraphs are on pages and in any other module, where the data is not created before the editor clicks "Save" and had the chance to enter data.

This is a major issue when we are talking press releases, news with a high interest for the public.

All notifications for example "Item saved" are also executed by the initial creating of the database records. This is a huge pain to work with.

Hi Kevin

Sorry for the late response!

I've added this to the backlog for 8.9 for now. So when you create a new page, you get the option to choose if it should be published or not. If you create a new page based on an item, and choose the state to be published, it will remain unpublished until you save the item (page) the first time.
