Gift card codes - is it possible to make codes from the backend?

Hi,

As far as I understand the current gift card functionality (http://manual.dynamicweb-cms.com/Default.aspx?ID=7689) , I have to do checkout of some sort, in order to create a gift card code.

One of our customers wishes to be able to make gift cards from the backend.
The use case is, that a customer will come to the physical shop, and get a gift card for the web shop.
Either by buying the gift card code in the shop, winning the gift card code in a FB-competition, or something like that.

Is it possible, to input a code in the backend, and attach a gift card value to that code?

Hi,

It is correct, that the giftcard is retrieved through an order flow. It is not possible to generate codes through the backend.

Maybe the customer could make a secured catalog page with a shopping cart with the default payment provider and create multiple giftcards? The codes are then available from backend and they can give them to customers.

Another alternative is vouchers. Here you can generate codes from the backend - and even e-mail the voucher codes to a group of users.
