Area Item gets dropped

Hi,

We've been having this issue for many months but not have been able to reproduce it consistenly until now.

  • We have an area item
  • We delete and add a few fields
(in the example provided we simulated deleting a field by mistake and recreating it)
  • We go to the Area and set the value for the new field
    (apparently everything is working fine)
  • The Item is dropped - only when you open the website (backend or frontend) that you notice it

Can you guys reproduce it? Tested in 8.7.2.3

Hi Nuno,

I've tested the issue on our test environment and was not able to reproduce that. Besides, I've performed the scenario on your solution http://b2b.fasteddie.dw-demo.com/Admin/default.aspx using new created test site and copy of item type can be used for area - issue is not reproduced as well. Please, have a look at the proof http://screencast.com/t/5mcuegR8 and remove my test content after confirming or provide extra conditions to catch the issue.

Hi Oleg,

We managed to find out the issue a little bit better now. When you click "Save", the page get's refreshed twice. If you click "Save and Close" before the second refresh, the item settings get dropped.

Since the page refreshed once the used might navigate away or hit Save and close, and the website being slow that day, the user get's the idea DW did what it had to do.

Can you reproduce it?

Hi Nuno,

I was able to reproduce the last issue on our test environment using your item type set (Social lincs+Website settings) but not simple single item type. Probably, cause of the issue is item list using etc. New TFS 21183 has been created to fix the bug.. Thanks.
