Adding a new user group results into an error

This is something we noticed for a client of us, in all DTAP stages.
I told our consultant it probably would be fixed when updating to a newer version.
It has been a while and since then and the core has been updated since then to version 8.7.0.0 where it is on now.
But the problem remains. Does anyone have an idea of what the problem could be?

Hi Peter,

The issue is not reproduced on our regular test environment with last DW87. Please, provide public URL to your solution to research.

I added you in the CC Nicolai, but the service desk address bounces ...

We managed to fix the problem by deleting all smartsearch files on disk.
I have no idea WHY those files were interfering.
Perhaps this rings a bell for you guys?

The error was caused by an outdated namespace in the provider attribute. I've registered it as a bug (TFS-19790) so we can get it fixed

Hi Peter

The problem with TFS#19790 "Not possible to create subgroups in user management if solution contains smartsearches with old namespace"

Has been resolved in Dynamicweb version 8.8.0.0
