Shipping/Payment methods new fields

Hi,

 

It would be nice if we could have additional fieldsfeatures in shipping and payment methods.

  1. Fields/Meta data to set things like GL code / ERP id
  2. Be able to set a user or user groups so the methods are only visible to those users
  3. Ability to set an image to the shipping method

 

Right now we need to apply some workarounds:

  1. Use the Description field with some keywords.
    Parse the value to send to the ERP (in integration projects)
  2. Use the Description field with some keywords.
    Parse the value in the templates to show/exclude the methods
  3. We need to explicity create an image called SHIP1.jpg, but with everything else in the system we have a field to choose a file.

Hi Nicolai,

 

Any update on item 1.?

 

I keep having projects where I would usa that extensively. For example, it's not the 1st time I have to set up multiple shipping methods, but only show 1 of them depending on the products I have in my cart (ex. if products are refrigerated or not), so the user does not make a bad choice.

 

If I could set some checkboxed on the shipping method, I could set the logic in the template better than setting some wierd string in the description and do it fro there.

You can use the shipping fee matrix for stuff like that. Then shippings will only show up for products that are valid.

But, no - we have not added the feature.

Hi Nicolai,

 

Yes I could use the Fee Matrix, but it's not that simple (unfortunately hardly ever is sad ) because it requires a different shipping provider and/or different settings for the same shipping provider, that's why we cannot use the Fee Matrix.
